Easy DIY modification for any electric trolling motor to add remote control steering to it. Very simple design using linear actuator and FOB remote control to it. Under $100. Parts sold on Amazon.
Device consists of L-shaped tube, round or square in this case. Bolted on top of trolling motor clam bracket. Then short strip of metal or aluminum strip screwed between depth collar lips, so that it perpendicular to the motor shaft. Actuator secured between metal strip and end of L-shaped tube, to push motor left or right, using FOB remote control.

Rider can place seat such way that motor tiller handle can be reached, in order to change speed, reverse or stop motor.

Optional trolling motor foot switch was added as emergency shut off, in case if something goes wrong while motor is under way at full speed. It also used to turn motor ON/OFF. Alternatively, another remote can be added turn power to motor ON/OFF, but foot switch is reliable and affordable.

It does takes a little bit of learning curve, because after each turn, opposite button need to be pressed to return motor into strait forward position.

Linear actuator and controller can be powered by same 12V batter as a motor. Or optional pack of 12V 8x AA batteries can be used for that.

Cotter pins were used instead of original rods that came with linear actuator, so that it can be easily removed in order to raise motor from water, or in case if motor need to be operated manually.
