Описание к видео RAILTIME 2000 - CN Bala sub volume 3

Filmed between 2003 and 2005.
Presented from South to North. Our journey starts on a late winter afternoon just north of Quaker siding where we catch the southbound
Northlander and then a southbound freight of empty
autoracks and flatcars, powered by a single SD50F. We
listen to the radio chatter as we wait for one last
northbound before we lose the light.

We set up at the south end of Pine Orchard on a
beautiful fall day to catch a southbound. But by the time
the train arrives we are losing the light again. We’re back
again on a winter’s evening and catch a meet between a
north and a southbound. It’s hard to see but the 2nd and
3rd units are Ontario Northland SD75I’s.

On our way home one night we heard some action on
the scanner and swung by Washago to catch a north and
a southbound under the station lights.

On a trip north we stopped at Foot’s Bay, a few miles
south of Dock Siding, to catch a southbound.
In nicer weather we catch a southbound at Dock Siding
with an SD40-2(W) leading.
We return again in the winter and catch a northbound
with a BNSF unit in the consist.

On a crisp fall day we are filming with 2 cameras at
Rosseau Road. Our first train is southbound with a pair
of SD75I’s for power. VIA #2, the Canadian is next with 4
dome cars. Another southbound comes around the bend
with a Dash 9-44CW and an SD60F for power.
Falding is next where we catch a northbound. Then we
catch a southbound at the 2nd crossing of James Bay Jct
Road, just prior to reaching South Parry.
We are at Reynolds to catch a northbound making it’s crew
change when the CP 2816 steam engine comes by heading
for Parry Sound. All the railfans had to wait for the freight to
clear so they could get to their cars.

On a fall day we use 2 cameras to catch a northbound that
has the TEST train in tow.

On a very wet day we catch a meet and the crew changes
at South Parry. Power for the southbound is an SD40-2 and
an SD40-2(W).

On our next trip CN and CP had started a directional running
agreement between here and St Cloud. We first catch a
northbound crossing over to the CP with a BNSF SD40-2 in
the consist. Foreign power was becoming quite common in
2005 and we catch a southbound here with a Union Pacific
SD70M in the last-up. All the switches are now powered and
new signals have been installed. Note the northbound CP
going through as the southbound CN gets underway.
Our last location is right in the town of Parry Sound. We
catch a northbound snaking it’s way through town with a
Dash 9 and an SD75I for power.
