This week I was contacted by a company called Drok who offered to send me a DC-DC step-down converter to have a play around with. As I enjoy playing around with that kind of thing, I happily accepted. I took a good look at it under the microscope, tested it to it's extremes and had a peek at the output under an oscilloscope to look for ripple and noise. The converter passed all of my tests without any problems whatsoever, and even managed to impress me a couple of times.

Here's the datasheets for the two TO-220 packages I identified on the converter.
