Gathering at Bridge Storage on a warm and sunny afternoon on Saturday the 30th of August, 2025, friends and family dressed in their Labor Day white for a campaign kick-off.

Former Richmond Councilmember Demnlus Johnson III is running for Richmond Mayor and Brendan Evans is running to depose Richmond City Councilmember Doria Robinson elected by the voters in District 3.

The Primary Election is on June 2nd of next year with the General Election on November 6th.

If the D3 race is limited to Doria and Brendan, one or the other will garner 50%+1 of the votes and the results will be final with no need to head to the General Election in November.

For the Mayor’s race, there are four candidates that are expected to run which almost certainly forward the top two candidates to the General Election.

With Councilmember Dr. Jamelia Brown serving as the mistress of ceremonies, there were several local entertainers providing a diversion from the mingling, the food and beverages available.
