Zesty Drill: a History of the Campaign Hat

A distinctive hat with its flat brim and pointed "montana peak", sometimes evoking comparisons to a lemon squeezer, the campaign hat is the distinguishing mark of US Military drill sergeants and instructors, US park rangers, and the famous Canadian Mounties, as well as several other uniformed services. From a simple outdoor hat shaped to keep rain off its summit, it is now a symbol of authority in the outdoors.
