Chrome Delete | Perodua Ativa AV 1.0 Turbo | Below RM50! | Aeropak Rubber Paint Matte Black | Mr DIY

It only costs less than RM50 to chrome delete the entire Perodua Ativa 1.0 AV with Aeropak Rubber Paint from Mr DIY!!! I'm not joking!!!

I am a sucker for black color. When I first got my Ford Ranger XLT back then, I also did chrome delete to the front grille, side mirrors, and rear emblem with Plastidip from Ace Hardware.

However, I have recently found a cheaper alternative to Plastidip, which is Aeropak Rubber Paint available at most of the Mr DIY nationwide. Each can is retailed at RM18.90 and there are various color options to choose from.

So I thought since I'm gonna be doing chrome delete anyways, why not give Aeropak Rubber Paint a shot and see how is the outcome. I initially planned to apply 5 layers of paint whereby the first 2 layers will be light and thin layers with a 15 minutes interval to give the parts an even spread of the rubber paint, then followed by 3 thick layers with a 1-hour interval so that the thicker layers can dry properly.

Unfortunately, it started raining and I only managed to complete 4 layers within the available timeframe.

I opted for matte black to chrome delete my Perodua Ativa.
