Dehydrating Chicken Feet for a Healthy Dog Treat.

Equipment:
You will need a Dehydrator and Chicken Feet.

Why Chicken Feet?
Chicken feet are great as dog snacks mainly because they are composed of cartilage, skin, tendons and tiny bones. Chickens feet are high in collagen (protein), and because of this, they may help relieve joint pain, aid skin health, and prevent bone loss. Chicken feet, when dried, are naturally safe for dogs because the bones will crush and crumble, acting as fully digestible treats.

Some tips worth noting:
In Jakarta, I'm lucky as the chicken feet I buy have already been declawed. I recommend you do this before dehydration begins if yours have not been. For the warm air to get around every part of the foot, make sure you space your chicken feet on the rack.
I turn my dehydrator up to 70 degrees (max setting) for 24 hours.
If you have cats or dogs that can reach the counter, I recommend keeping the kitchen door closed. The smell is just too tempting to our fur friends, especially at the beginning of the dehydration.

I hope you enjoyed the episode. Thank you for watching.
