(HD) Rainy Weather Landing - Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-800 - Chicago Midway Airport KMDW / MDW

Here's the takeoff    • (HD) Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-80...  

The landing was loud & rough because it had to be. It was an IFR Approach to a short runway with bad visibility and rain with a relatively large airplane given the LDA of a little over 5800ft. Put it down. Open that reverse thrust and slow down! We descended on approach pretty fast. The pilots (as usual) did a fabulous job.
Additional note: A firm touchdown is often a good thing when landing on a wet runway because it allows for better wheel spin-up and helps avoid hydroplaning.

Landing / Arrival was at about 7:40pm on Runway 31C.
