guess two things have been eating at me this last few years, the push to modify everything as if that's the panacea for work saws, and the cookie cut saw evaluation culture where the definition of a good saw is a tenth of a second ... faster than the "not so good" saws. Truth is both are products of a online community trying to quantify and differentiate either a saw or themselves from a perceived "herd". In fact MOST pro saws are work ready, really don't need a "mod" to make them a cost efficient tool, in fact the cost of mods along with the fuel use and longevity of a now stressed saw often takes away the benefit from a numbers perspective. Folks will argue that point ad infinitum futilely trying to justify something that is simply about what they want to do, and that really justification enough for the hobby/enthusiast type. For the "true" pro.....not so easy. Different metrics apply based on their business. Especially tree or logging outfits with a crew and where the saw truly IS a tool and not a "passion". These "five's" are for them and those like them where longevity coupled with enough performance is the definition of win vs. winning some arbitrary game where the rules are defined by folks earning money modifying saws. Different metrics folks. And for farmer/land owner types, a good solid and reliable saw is the definition of win..at a good price. These should be considered
