1939 Fred Lowery whistles Listen To The Mocking Bird (and does bird imitations)

If you’re into birdcalls, be sure to give this one a listen. Famed virtuoso whistler Lowery (billed as “The Blind Whistler”) was a featured performer with the bands of both Vincent Lopez and Horace Heidt, who conducted this popular two-sided Columbia disc (“William Tell Overture” also posted). Lowery’s talent was later showcased on Leroy Holmes’ hit 1954 recordings of “The High And The Mighty” and “Tara’s Theme.”
