2024 LAC Finance Ministers' Meeting Preparatory Webinar

The 2024 LAC Finance Ministers’ Meeting is taking place on 19 April 2024. It is co-organized by SWA, UNICEF, and IDB and will focus on how ministers of finance, together with other government and development partners, are transforming access to water and sanitation in their countries, leading to economic, health, and social benefits that ensure the necessary resilience in the face of a changing climate and complex global context. 

Discussions at the meeting will center on the importance of investing in water and sanitation as catalysts for economic impact and long-term development. Particular attention will be devoted to solutions aimed at eliminating inequalities within and between countries that hinder efforts to deliver on the SDGs’ promise to leave no one behind.

To prepare for this important high-level meeting, SWA hosted its first preparatory webinar on 30 January. The webinar provided information about the context of FMM (why this meeting, why now, and why Finance Ministers need to join), agenda and preparatory process.
