The Jiehkkevárri Traverse

Jiehkkevárri (1834 m.a.s.l.), Saami for "Glacier Mountain", is the tallest Lyngen Alp. On this fabulous spring day (2 May 2016) we did the full traverse of 2,500 altitude meters with Espen Nordahl and the MSM guides. The traverse starts in Holmbukt and ends in Jøvika. In addition to Jiehkkevárri itself, It includes the summits of Holmbukttinden (1668 m.a.s.l.) and Kveita (aka "Kartkveita" 1751 m.a.s.l.). The whole trip took roughly 12 hours 30 mins.
