This film, courtesy of John Kenny, shows houses being built on Kilbarrack Avenue by his father Jim's firm of builders around 1951.
Early scenes are of builders at work. At 40 secs you see the back of St Margaret's Avenue.
At 1min 25 secs houses being built, St Margaret's Avenue houses in background.
At 1 min 30 secs you are looking down Kilbarrack Avenue towards shops, which is the two-storey block that was already built.
At 1 min 32 secs, film pans up the road. At 1 min 44 secs you see the back of Kilbarrack Avenue houses and building materials being laid out for the building of Kilbarrack Grove houses.
At 1 min 50 secs, you see the field on which Kilbarrack Grove houses were built.
At 2 mins, back to Kilbarrack Avenue. More views looking down towards the shops.
At 2 mins 30, repeat view of Kilbarrack Gardens houses and materials ready for building the Grove. Then the field that became Kilbarrack Grove.
At 3 mins, if you pause film, you see the word "Goti" on a sign, which was probably Ormonde Goti's house at number 15. Back again to general views.
At 3 mins 14 secs completed houses on Kilbarrack Avenue. "On View" - must have been the showhouse.
At 3 mins 48 secs panning across the houses. Then back again.
At 4 mins 8 secs, Jim Kenny pictured on scaffolding. At 4 mins 17 Jim Kenny starting a mini-bulldozer and then Jim driving the bulldozer. More views of houses, then at 5 mins 12 secs looking back down Kilbarrack Avenue.
At 5 mins 15 secs, men clearing bushes for the building of 1 Kilbarrack Avenue.
