Hope you like my latest Stockport then and now series video, in this one I will be showing you a view of Stockport's Victorian Market hall.

Stockport market hall was originally known as the glass umbrella and was made in 1861 by The Phoenix Foundry, Derby who made Battersea bridge in London.
Its Grade II listed.

The main change you will see in this video is that the final section of the market hall was demolished to allow trams to navigate in front of the hall. I would never have know that if I hadn't have made this video !
