Ingredients:
• Kaali Masoor ki Daal 1 cup
• Rice (Chawal) 500 gram
• Onion (Piyaaz) 2
• Tomatoes (Tamatar) Half kg
• white cumin seeds (Safed Zeera) 1 teaspoon
• Sabut Kaali Mirch 8 – 10
• Cinnamon (Daar cheeni) 1
• Bay leaf (Tez Paat) 1
• Green Chili (Hari Mirch) 10 – 12
• Curry leaves (Kari Patte) 10 – 12
• Red Chili powder (Laal Mirch powder) 1 Tablespoon
• Turmeric Powder (Haldi powder) 1 Teaspoon
• Salt (Namak) ½ Tablespoon
• Potatoes (Aloo) 4 – 5
• Plum (Aloo Bukhara) 5 – 6
• Oil 1 cup
• Yellow food color
• Coriander Leaves (Dhaniya)

How to make Aloo Masoor Biryani
Direction/Method/Preparation

Step 1: Soak and boil

• Soak 1 cup of kaali masoor ki daal in water and boil it.
• Soak 500 grams of Rice (Chawal), Cook rice with 1 tablespoon of salt, Half a cup of oil, and 2 glasses of water.

Step 2: For Gravy

• Heat one cup of Oil in a pan and add sliced Onions. Fry until the Onions become golden brown.
• Add sliced tomatoes

Step 3: Garam Masala, Spices

• Add 1 teaspoon of white cumin seed (Safed Zeera), 8 to 10 sabut kaali mirch, Cinnamon (Daar cheeni), Bay Leaf (Tez paat), add 10 to 12 green chili and curry leaves.
• Add 1tablespoon of red chili powder (Laal Mirch powder), 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder (Haldi powder), and ½ tablespoon of Salt (Namak)

Step 4: Bhunao Process

• We will Bhunao until the tomatoes become mushy. Use a Half glass of water for the Bhunao process.
• Cover and cook for 10 minutes on a high flame

Step 5: Gravy

• After tomatoes turn mushy, add Potatoes. Cover and cook for 10 Minutes.
• Add Plums (Aloo bukharey), Add boiled Kali masoor ki daal.
• Mix it well.
• Turn off the flame.

Step 6: Biryani layers

• Take a pan, Pour Masoor masala Gravy, and add green chilies (Hari Mirch), Coriander Leaves (Dhaniya).
• Add cooked rice over it.
• Add yellow food color.
• Finally, cook the biryani on dum for 15 to 20 minutes so that the flavors combine with the rice. Gently mix the biryani before serving

Serving:

• Serve this amazing biryani with raita, mint chutney, and pappadums.
