Counterweight system.
One of my old Meade barrel weights, the smallest one. I think it is one pound per the following link; https://www.meade.com/meade-tube-bala....
Ordered from ScopeStuff the system that will work on my original barrel weight bar for a Meade. http://www.scopestuff.com/ss_mcra.htm
Parts #MCRA, #SC44 and your choice of pancake weights. I got the 2-lb (#CWA2). Be aware that for the weights you need the ¼”-20tpi bolt system. I made a mistake and got the 5/16” and had to make a trip to the hardware store to get the ¼” and related wing nuts and nylon washers. The bolt system I got from the hardware store is a whole lot cheaper than from the dealer. I do not know why I did not think of that when ordering. I got a ¼” carriage bolt 5-inches long. I see from the pictures on the order site, that maybe I need to go into my nut stash for a ¼” nut to tighten the bolt down to the #MCRA. You can get a rod and cut it to your length or cut off the carriage bolt head. Be mindful of the length. There is a reason why the dealer list only 4.5” long system. The 5” carriage bolt I got misses the bottom top of the fork by only maybe ¼”.
