2017 FRÉDÉRIC MAGNIEN Côte de Nuits-Villages ‘Croix Violette’

My friend Frank sent me a few bottles of wine and wanted me to do a tasting note on one, so here we go and friends in Europe, hopefully you can find this wine.

This is a 100% Pinot Noir from Morey-Saint-Denis in Burgundy. The Burgundy region is the home of the best Pinot Noir in the world. As you likely have figured out from my videos, I love Pinot Noir but I generally stick to California wines. This wine is a nice change of pace.

On the nose, floral and red berries. On the palate, red berries, some mineral flavors and nice acidity on the finish. Definitely needs food to pair with it. If you want a big fruit forward wine, this is not for you! If you want a good friendly wine, this is worth checking out.
