Amritsari Chole Masala Recipe

Ingredients :

Kabuli channa (Chick Pea) - 250g
Channa Dal - 50g
Onion - 250g
Ginger - 50g
Garlic - 4-5cloves
Green chillies - 2-3 nos
Tomatoes - 250g
Red chilli powder - 5g
Channa masala powder - 10g
Amchoor (dry mango powder) - 5g
Salt - To taste
Pure Ghee - 50ml
Cloves - 3-4 nos
Fresh coriander leaves - 8-9 sprigs

Method

1. Wash and soak channa and channa dal with cloves for overnight.
2. Add salt and pressure cook it until six whistles.
3. Blend onions, ginger, garlic, tomatoes, green chillies in mixer until smooth.
4. Heat pan and add ghee, when hot add the blended mixture and cook until thick paste.
5. Add red chilli powder, channa Masala powder sauté, amchoor powder and stir it well.
6. Add cooked masala to boiled channa and pressure cook again until three whistle.
7. Check if cooked enough or cook for Few minutes more, add chopped coriander leaves and stir well

Serve hot garnished with chopped fresh coriander leaves
Enjoy with freshly fried Puries/ Bhuture or your choice of bread.
