Backpacking Steens Gorges Loop

Jennifer and I tackle the Steens Gorges Loop in the Steens Mountain Wilderness Area. This twenty mile loop includes part of Section 14 of the Oregon Desert Trail as you make your way down Big Indian Gorge, 2000 feet up the headwall to Steens Mountain Loop Road for a 5 mile road walk, followed by a 1700 foot descent into Little Blitzen Gorge.
