Akha hill-tribe people of Southeast Asia have a long oral tradition of singing, chanting and story telling. Their tradition is now continued by a small, dwindling number of mostly elderly Akha people. The younger generation have now mostly lost this oral tradition, and many don't understand the words of songs like this. Without encouragement and support, the hills of Southeast Asia will no longer echo such Akha songs.
