DIY wheel replacement for TravelPro Crew 5 luggage

One of the wheels on my TravelPro Crew 5 carry-on luggage shattered. I discovered that TravelPro's lifetime warranty isn't worth diddly. The repair shop wanted $60 to replace the wheels. You can easily replace both wheels with amazingly smooth-rolling inline skate wheels in 10 minutes with $10-20 in parts from eBay.

Verify which parts you'll need. This varies from model to model but were the same for my 22" Crew 5 and 25" Crew 6 bags. Follow the instructions in the video to disassemble one wheel and measure the wheel diameter (hopefully you still have one intact wheel to measure) and axle diameter. In my case those measurements were 76mm and 6mm.

Look on eBay for inline skate wheels with the same wheel diameter. Make sure they take standard 608 bearings and buy two bearings per wheel. 608 bearings have an inner diameter of 8mm so buy an appropriate spacer given your luggage's axle size.
