The debate about faith versus feelings is a complicated one. Here Spurgeon wades into these questions and gives his own considered view. We desperately need the Holy Spirit for all spiritual life. However, many of us have thirsted for signs, wonders and angelic encounters. Spurgeon shows us that true, lasting faith rests upon Christ's finished work, and Scripture alone.
