Continuing on with the Career of Hulk Hogan, we have reached 1993 and the Hulkster's return to the WWF.

Bret Hart had become the WWF champion when he defeated Ric Flair in 92. The WWF was trying to move in a new direction with a smaller but more athletic superstar at the top of the ladder. With guys like Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior gone at the end of 1992, and superstars such as Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon getting WWF title oppurtunities on pay per view, it looked like the WWF was ushering in a new era. This came to a screeching halt when Hulk Hogan returned to the WWF in February of 1993. Hogan would ultimately overshadow WWF Championship main event match at WrestleMania 9.

The main event of WrestleMania IX featured Yokozuna taking on WWF Champion Bret Hart. Yokozuna had won the 1993 Royal Rumble and Hart had been having some good matches in the run-up to Mania. The WWF seemingly took a few steps back when they decided that Hulk Hogan would end up winning the WWF championship at the end of WrestleMania IX (even though he wasn't scheduled to have a WWF title match at the show). After all the hard work that Bret Hart and other guys put in during Hogan's absence, Hulk Hogan seemingly waltzed back into the company and took away the WWF championship.
