Varmakalai is the mother all martial arts form in our world. Through knowledge obtained from Lord Shiva, Agathiyar has created this form 3000 years ago.

The Palava kingdom’s Prince Bodhidharma was the key person who spread this art form to Chinese through Buddhism.
During his visit to China he found the Buddhist monk frightened inside their temple, so he taught the warrior methods and medical practies. This form is the base on which acupuncture and Kungfu. Gradually from Kungfu people created Karata, taekwondo and other Self-defence forms.

There are various stages under Varmam, there are 108 in forms, paduvarmam, thattuvarmam, through which we can attack a person.
Within thoduvarmam following are the forms Einthalvarsai, Panthangalvarsai and Paaeichalvarsai through which an opponent can be taken down
In Suthirampaniredu adimuraigal we have Adipaniredu, Pidipaniredu, Thadupaniredu. Thattupaniredu, Kuthupaniredu, Vettupaniredu, Idiepaniredu, Puthupaniredu, Vichupaniredu, Kaladipaniredu, Muthiraipaniredu and Paduvarmampaniredu

Varmakali Suthiram forms, Kuthuvarsai, Thadupuvarsai, Idivarsai, Thatuvarsai, Vittuvarsai, Adivarsai, Muthuraivarsai and Aythuvarsai
In Aythuvarsai we have Silambattam. Following are the various teaching methods in it
Nattukkombu, panyerimallu, Thudukandam, Kuravanchi, Marakanam, Nagampathinaru, Kalamkambu.
We also have Valvichu, Vichuva, Surulpatta, Valari, Serikuchi, Kurunthadi, Vichuval and Vettarival

To hit the varmam points we have Udtharimugam, Sarpam, Yannai, Sangu, Sarkaram, Vishu, Vel, Thirusulam, Parichi, Shakthi, Tdi, Purandal forms.
Locking methods are Mulangai Puttu, Manikattu Puttu, Tholpattai Puttu, Kanukal Puttu.

In Paduvaramam Panirendu, Thilathakalam, Natchathirakalam, Semipatrivarmam, Pidarikalam, Urakakalam, Thumbivarmam, Nervarmam, Urumivarmam, Adapukalam, Periyamudevarmam, Seriyamudevarmam and Thaladikalam.
If anyone gets attacked in these varmam points either intentionally or accidentally they may loss the get unconscious or loose hands and legs in worst scenario their life.
Varmam are not magical forms but through proper training and practise we can take down an entire army.
