1960s SFO Helicopter Airlines Stewardess Vietnam Soldiers World Airways PSA Sausalito Airport

Presenting vintage home movie films from c. 1965, 1967, and 1969 of the SFO Helicopter Airlines which flew the Sikorsky S-61, etc. This unique airline had its headquarters in Oakland, California. It operated from 1961-1986. Also seen in these rare films: the Commodore Seaplane Base in Sausalito, CA (with sign for the KGO Radio 81 Hurley Bird), a World Airways jet, a PSA jet, passengers on the tarmac, flight attendants, pilots, nuns, and U.S. soldiers and sailors most likely boarding a flight headed to Vietnam. During the Vietnam war World Airways had a military contract to fly personnel to Vietnam. We also present some bonus footage of a small plane and a glider which was towed by the small plane.
