SP00NTEK Flavor Enhancing Spoon Teardown / Debunking

Описание к видео SP00NTEK Flavor Enhancing Spoon Teardown / Debunking

I kept seeing this device in various channels I watch and noticed that even though they had tested it, they never decided to look inside to see what it really was doing.

After Thunderf00t's debunking and testing video (yumm eating low voltage spoons) I wanted to see what this thing was made of. For some reason they are still for sale on Amazon, so I bought one just the sole purpose of ripping it to pieces to see what the "technology" was that allegedly changed the way things tasted.

Turns out, it's a 12v battery connected to a mosfet with a pair of resistors and a white LED. The PCB is incredibly thin. It's essentially a touch activated spoon flashlight.
Only problem is, you can only use it when its in your mouth and the light points the wrong way. Also, it is disposable and hand washable only, and not microwave safe. for $30. Anyway.

I think this is the general design.

I might throw the remnants under the microscope and verify a few of my theories if there is enough interest. I don't know the exact mosfet or bjt part #. I think it's a mosfet but not 100% sure.

Sortedfood reviewed it in this episode.    • Reviewing CROWDFUNDED Kitchen Gadgets...

Thunderf00t debunked it thoroughly and licked electric spoons in this video.    • SpoonTEK: BUSTED!!

Thanks to them both for inspiring me to throw away $30 on a disposable spoon-flashlight.

By the way, Ads are off on this video.
