This is my cover of one of the more iconic bits of music from the 1996 game "Titanic: An Adventure Out of Time". Namely the C Deck theme, which is the first thing you hear after finding yourself back in time on Titanic and have been left by your steward.

I performed this on a Kawai ES100, routed through into Pianoteq to emulate a Steinway Concert Grand. The string parts were also done like this, though I just exported the MIDI into FLStudio and picked a bog-standard 'String Ensemble' sound for it. Which is close to what the original track used. I then overlaid this onto gameplay of the game I recorded and muted the in-game track and SFX in post.

This track does a great job of setting the mood for the rest of the game. There's mystery, much like the many secrets you have to unravel aboard the ship. It's ominous and sombre, reflecting your knowledge of the inevitable; an iceberg is going to hit the ship, killing over a thousand people. And it's a little beautiful, to reflect the luxurious ocean liner.

If you have any interest in the Titanic (then you've probably already played the game), mysteries, or retro adventure games, Adventure Out of Time is well worth playing.
