For your consideration
1965 Pontiac GTO
$115,000

This GTO is finished in its original color of Montereo red with black interior, truly a handsome and classic combination. This GTO underwent a complete rotisserie restoration and was finished in February of 2022. Once the car was completed it was then shipped to the team at Resurrection, LLC in Pepperell, Massachusetts for their expertise in bringing the car to concours judging standards. Full disclosure, this is a wonderful concours example for GTO’s but it needs to be made known the engine block itself is not original to the vehicle. Although it is a correct WS 9778789 tri power/4spd block it shows a casting date of F125 (June 12th ’65) we know this can’t be the original block, because the car was born two weeks prior in May of ‘65. The addition of power steering and power brakes were also added to the vehicle during its restoration, from the factory this was a manual brakes and steering car.

Nothing is more enjoyable to look at than a detailed Pontiac tri power engine, truly a mechanical work of art. This particular GTO is equipped with the highly coveted WS 389 Tri Power engine, M21 close ratio 4 speed manual transmission and 3.90 Safe-T-Track limited slip rear axle. This GTO is also factory optioned with the very rare performance Transistor Ignition system and extra optioned TI voltage regulator. This car was top dog in its day.

Many man hours were invested in taking this car to the next level of detail and factory correctness. During its time at Resurrection, parts were swapped out for NOS GM Delco items whenever possible. All vehicle components (i.e., starter, alternator, distributor, shocks, water pump, horns, glass, oil filter, spark plugs, pulleys, TI components, etc. etc. etc.) are all GM part numbered and date correct items. Every nut, bolt, clip and bracket were made to be correct in both finish and head markings. Other notable items are a full concours Garner exhaust system, period correct bias ply redline tires, detailed body mount bushings and hardware, factory paint markings, stamps and overspray replicated throughout, detailed original 4 speed M21 showing the vehicles partial vin stamped on top, detailed driveshaft and rear axle, custom made spring and shock tags (not the incorrect ones that are available aftermarket) that show the correct factory part numbers, correct waterslide decals, correct Delco battery and hardware, NOS Trico wiper blades etc. There are far too many items to try and cover in this write up, but know we have over 600 photos of the details performed at Resurrection. Prospective buyers are encouraged to view these and we can explain each and every one while answering any questions you might have. All restoration receipts come with the vehicle including a 20-page report with photos of all the corrections made at Resurrection.

This GTO attended the 2022 GTOAA Nationals in Kingsport, TN where it scored very well and received the Concours Gold Award.

It is my personal opinion Haggerty’s valuation of collector cars tends to be on the higher side, they currently value a condition 1 concours car at $143,000 and a #2 excellent condition car at $108,000, you then add 15% to those numbers if it’s a factory 4-spd car. Let’s, for a moment, pretend their concours #1 condition doesn’t exist. If we take a #2 excellent condition car at $108,000 plus the 15% for factory 4-spd that brings the car to a value of $124,200. I believe this car, with its attention to concours details, condition and cleanliness is fairly priced at $115,000.

This car is located in our private showroom and is available for viewing by appointment only. Please call Jake Cryan at Resurrection, LLC (978) 877-7499 to discuss this car further.
