Welcome to The Songwriter’s Workshop. This is the series where I attempt to write songs based on the process and techniques of famous songwriters. Each video looks at a different songwriter’s writing habits, musical inspirations, and creative process while also including an original song written using those techniques.

This video looks at songwriter Jimmy Webb and his book Tunesmith. We focus specifically on Jimmy's advice on how to get started with the "idea" of your song; how to expand on your idea in order to have a place to start and ways to inspire you to write. This video includes the original song "Simple" that was written using Jimmy's techniques.
