Purdue University Welcome Week Recap: Boiler Gold Rush 2021

Purdue University welcome week, or as we say the Boiler Gold Rush, was a hit. Purdue welcomed its largest-ever freshman class with a continuous multi-day celebration that began with move-in and ended with a fireworks send-off. From Fountain Runs to Crossing the Tracks to a movie night at Ross-Ade Stadium, Boilermakers took part in the Purdue University welcome week and made memories that will last a lifetime.

Throughout BGR, students were assigned to small groups of about 15 other students according to their residence. The small groups took part in a variety of activities across campus while adhering to the safety guidelines outlined in the Protect Purdue Plan. More than 700 current students volunteered to help support this week-long student orientation program.

Welcome back Boilermakers! It’s good to be back. We’re ready to take the next giant leap together. Always, always together.
