In Iran the people are not free. Not free to speak their mind, not free to love who they want, not free to hold hands with their boyfriend, girlfriend, wife, husband in the streets, not free to travel, not free to study what they want and if they are women; not free to let their hair fall free in public.
On September 16th 2022, 22-year-old Mahsa Amini was killed by the Iranian regime's religious morality police for not covering her hair in accordance with the regime standards. The Iranian government commit pointless murders like this every day.
That is why we have created this cover of the Iranian song, “Gole Yakh”, written by Mehdi Akhavan Langroodi and originally performed by Kourosh Yaghmaei in 1973. To show our love and support for the millions of Iranians all over the world, who are fighting for freedom, and risking their lives every day. Both their own lives, and the lives of the people they love. These people need support and love now more than ever before. No matter what ethnicity, background, color, gender, identity, age, size, …, you are, you can support these people, and you can contribute to the fight for freedom.
