I KNOW , I didn't have my camera. Wasn't planning a video :( Realized once I was there THAT was a huge mistake!

Had to do some work down that way, ( Another Video Somewhere) And part as a reward and part early Birthday present had the chance to get a "Cab" ride in the Mid 1970's built 1103 EMD SW1500. That by itself was "pretty cool". Didn't realize the EMD GP7 was a part of that mix... And THAT in of itself was a really cool opportunity. What I didn't predict were the really awesome characters who run this train, a Brakeman / Engineer set for each Locomotive. They were beyond cool. Thank you ( will leave the names out for their privacy) ..didn't catch the name of the first brake man in the SW1500 who was super patient and extremely knowledgeable. He had an interesting knowledge set from the East Coast Short lines in and around Eastern PA and New Jersey. Both engineers were characters and a lot of fun, the second brakeman "sparked" when O gauge & trucks came into the conversation.

Should have guessed they all would bring personality, humor, and knowledge to the day as they were Volunteers doing what their hearts led them to. Enthusiasts to the core and just as important to the success of this day as the equipment itself. SO a heart felt thank you to the four fellows I rode with and the many behind the scenes that make this awesome Excursion train happen as well as "growing" a destination for Rail Road Enthusiast.

All I can say is if you are reading this, AND have the opportunity to visit & ride this excursion train, its a great ride. IF you have the opportunity for the CAB ride, grab it with BOTH hands and DON'T let go, but I warn you, the urge to volunteer and attempt to be apart of something like this in your home area will be strong.
