HOW TO USE A NASAL SPRAY

In this video, you will be given a step by step guide to use a nasal spray to treat the allergic symptoms like sneezing or a runny nose.

Shake the bottle well before using the nasal spray.
Blow your nose gently
Remove the cap of the bottle and keep its tip between your index finger and middle finger with thumb at the bottom.
If you are using this nasal spray for the first time or have not used it for a week or more, then examine it by spraying it away from you in the air.
To use the spray, close your one nostril with your finger and tilt your head forward, now put the tip of the spray into your other nostril.
Remember to point the nasal tip towards the corner of your eye and not towards the center of your nose as it could lead to bleeding.
Breathe slowly through your nose and spray gently into the nostril. Exhale slowly through your mouth.
If you have been prescribed the 2nd dose then repeat all the above steps.
Repeat the same procedure in your other nostril as well.

Do’s and Don’ts of using a nasal spray

Do’s
After use, wipe the nozzle with a clean handkerchief or tissue and replace the dust cap.
Use the nasal spray as per your doctor’s recommendation and do not exceed the dose.
Store at temperature below 30℃.
Keep the nasal spray away from the reach of children.

Don’ts
Avoid deep breathing while using the spray as it will cause the medication to go into your throat and produce an unpleasant effect.
Do not share your nasal spray with others.
Do not blow your nose immediately after using this medication.
Do not refrigerate the nasal spray and protect it from light.
Do not point the tip of the nasal spray towards the center of your nose (nasal septum) as it may lead to nose bleeding.
This nasal spray should not be used in patients with nasal ulcers, nasal surgery, and nasal trauma.
