Return to intercourse can be considered at 6-8 weeks post partum at the earliest.

Intercourse post partum may be influenced by numerous factors including; pain, fear, hormones which reduce libido, decreases in natural lubriaction, fatigue etc.

The key is to return progressively-focus on regaining intimacy, pleasent touching, foreplay, make it fun and the person who has just given birth remains in control.
