We can run my discounted cash flow model together to see if the stock is a buy or a sell. We are also analyzing the financial ratios to see how they compare to their competitors. We will look at the debt of the company and equity. We will also calculate the WACC (weighted average cost of capital) so we can discount the future cash flows. Let's also look to see if the company is paying a dividend.

QUALCOMM started as a contract research and development center for government and defense projects but over the yrs it expanded into selling
semiconductor products using a fabless manufacturing model. Fabless means it outsources its manufacturing to a semiconductor foundry. It develops semiconductor components & software mainly for wireless technology but also for vehicles, watches, laptops and other devices.

It has been developing 5G technology for several years. The company's first 5G modem chip was announced in October 2016 and a prototype was
demonstrated in October 2017. Its first 5G antennas were announced in July 2018. It has partnerships with 19 mobile device manufacturers and 18 carriers to commercialize 5G technology. Many phones have been sold with Qualcomm's 5G technology in them probably the phone you are using to watch this video.

It licenses its technology to just about every mobile phone carrier in the world as well as auto manufacturers and many other companies. That gives the company a long runway of revenue into the future. It has patents for 2G, 3G, 4G & 5G technology. In the 1980s the 2G standard was adopted with Qualcomm's CDMA patents. The company's name is a combination of the words QUALity & COMMunications.

The company is headquartered in San Diego, CA and was founded in 1985 (36 Years Ago)

It started trading in 1991 and can be found on the Nasdaq, Mexican Bolsa, Deutsche Borse, Xetra, Vienna, EuroTLX, Swiss, Santiago, Sao Paulo, Lima & Buenos Aires stock exchange
