With the commonality of many types of garage door openers (Chamberlain, Craftsman, and LiftMaster) changing out your old garage door opener for a new model can take as little as 10 minutes. Seriously! Now you might run into a snag or 2 but I will walk you through the process of swapping out my old Chamberlain HD660M Whisper Drive for a new Chamberlain B750. This new model only cost $200 for Home Depot and at that price you can't order too many parts for your old opener before it makes more sense to just buy a whole new unit and upgrade your opener. Not to mention I now have spare parts for my keypad, safety sensors, remotes, rail, and more.
