Today we’re kicking back and checking out the Lazy Comp from Anasounds. The Lazy Comp came together by addressing three principles of all compression pedals: Compression, dynamics and harmonics. The Lazy Comp lets us get back to basics by reminding us what we like about playing guitar: the dynamic articulation that is swallowed up by most compression circuits. The front end of the Lazy Comp is split into two identical paths. One of these paths is sent directly to the output, with the other bearing the brunt of the compression circuit. The only knob on the front of the Lazy Comp is this mix control, giving you several interesting combinations of buffered clean tone and extremely musical compression. This mix control keeps your dynamics intact, and is an absolute must-have for any hollow or semi-hollow players. The compressed signal flows into a high-quality preamp circuit that was designed around the compression circuit rather than tacked on. This is sent into the optical compression circuit which is fed to the mixer. The Lazy Comp’s circuit board contains two extra trimpots that help you sculpt the tone of the compressed path. The Comp trimmer sets the threshold of the compression, which can give you a little extra grit when set high, and the Volume trimmer sets the overall output volume. Just like all Anasounds pedals, the Lazy Comp is hand-made in France with a dedication to high quality components.
