2024 F1 Dutch GP QUALIFYING by Peter Windsor

In what was probably the best single lap he's ever driven, McLaren-Mercedes' Lando Norris stole pole position at Zandvoort by the margin of 0.346sec - a massive gap over the opposition in the context of the 70sec it takes to complete the 4.3km lap. Red Bull-Honda's Max Verstappen qualified second, with Lando's team-mate, Oscar Piastri, lining up third. In this video, Peter explains how Lando drove the lap and where he found his advantage.
Note: after this video was processed it was announced that Mercedes' Sir Lewis Hamilton has received a three-place grid penalty for impeding Red Bull-Honda's Sergio Perez in Q1 and that Williams-Mercedes' Alex Albon has been disqualified from qualifying due to the floor of the car exceeding the maximum dimensions as defined by the FIA rule book.
