AFRO FESTIVAL 2023

U Muzeju afričke umetnosti od petka, 23. juna, do nedelje, 25. juna 2023. godine održan je Afro festival. Svake godine tokom poslednjeg vikenda u junu, bašta MAU postaje prava košnica u kojoj se okuplja ne samo muzejska publika, već i brojni drugi ljubitelji umetnosti i dobre muzike, turisti, diplomatska zajednica i najšira javnost – mesto upoznavanja, razmene ideja i dobrog raspoloženja podstaknutih otkrivanjem različitih oblika kreativnosti koji dolaze sa afričkog kontinenta.

Kao rezultat izuzetne međunarodne saradnje između Ministarstva kulture Republike Srbije, Ambasade Republike Srbije u Najrobiju i Muzeja afričke umetnosti, počasni gost festivala 2023. godine bila je Republika Kenija. Ministarstvo za omladinu, umetnosti i sport Kenije i Kulturni centar Kenije svoje bogato kulturno nasleđe predstavili su ekskluzivnim programom pod sloganom „Kenija – ponos Afrike!“, uz nastupe više od trideset muzičko-plesnih izvođača i prodajnu izložbu tradicionalnih i savremenih umetničkih i zanatskih proizvoda, modni dizajn, tekstil, nakit.

The Afro Festival 2023 was held in the Museum of African Art from Friday, June 23, to Sunday, June 25. Every year in the last weekend of June, the MAU garden becomes a beehive of sorts for the gathering of a vast museum audience as well as numerous other art and music buffs, tourists, the diplomatic community and the general public, becoming a place to meet, exchange ideas and good feelings fueled by the discovery different forms of creativity that come from the African continent.

As a result of the exceptional international cooperation among the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Nairobi and the Museum of African Art, on Afro Festival 2023 honoured guest of honour was the Republic of Kenya. The Ministry of Youth Affairs, Arts and Sports of Kenya and the Cultural Center of Kenya presented their rich cultural heritage with an exclusive programme under the slogan "Kenya – The Pride of Africa!", with performances by over thirty music and dance artists and sale exhibitions of traditional and contemporary art and craft products, fashion design, textiles, jewellery.
