So why is it that so many people live in misery because they can't get relief for their dry eyes? We're gonna be talking a lot more about dry eye on this channel, but before we can talk about the causes and treatment for dry eyes, we need to establish what type of dry eye you have. The good news is that there are only two main categories of dry eye problems based on the health of your tears.

About this video:

Hi I'm optometrist Martin Oguzie, this video is part one of three videos on basic dry eye (Keratoconjunctivitis sicca or KCS) tips. We start by explaining the problem of dry eye via an explanation of what it is. This is best explained by dissecting the medical name for the condition; keratoconjunctivitis sicca or KSC as it is often shortened to. In the two other videos that will follow in the coming weeks, I will explain the causes of dry eye and some important points for effective treatment, that will hopefully be helpful for anyone managing their own evaporative dry eye or their aqueous deficient KCS with an eye care professional.
