Allan Ssempebwa, the UNRA communications officer, states that the aim is to alleviate congestion in Kampala's Central Business District (CBD) by introducing additional road lanes and enhancing the city's skyline.

The Kampala flyover consists of three components, each featuring three pedestrian bridges: the clock tower bridge, the former Shoprite pedestrian bridge, and the Kibuli area pedestrian bridge.

Allan also mentions that these pedestrian bridges will be illuminated during the night to ensure convenient usage for people.

Furthermore, Allan emphasizes that the primary goal of the project is to segregate vehicular traffic from pedestrian traffic. He encourages pedestrians to make use of the designated walkways and bridges.

He mentions that the project includes a groundbreaking underpass tunnel in the Nsambya area, measuring approximately 360 meters. This tunnel is designed to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic between Jinja Road, Mukwano, the city, Entebbe, and vice versa.

Allan explains that the project comes with certain limitations, restricting access to boda boda riders, motorcycles, tricycles, bicycles, and pedestrians for their safety. Access to the Nsambya underpass will not be permitted for the mentioned modes of transportation.

Allan notes another restriction specifying that the flyover bridge is reserved exclusively for vehicles, with motorcycles, tricycles, and cyclists not permitted.

Allan mentions that sufficient lighting has been installed along the Kampala flyover to ensure road safety. Additionally, security personnel will be actively patrolling the area.
