Driving Africa’s Development with Mobile Technology — Frehiwot Tamiru at the AU Summit 2024

During a digital transformation panel moderated by AFTS MD Zekarias Amsalu, Frehiwot Tamiru, CEO, Ethio-Telecom, emphasizes the need for Africa to harness mobile technology to drive financial inclusion and even provide education, healthcare and other critical public services which can be better delivered through mobile technology.

Ethiopia's President Sahle-Work Zewde opened the session, which saw panelists explore critical topics, including financial inclusion, AI, policy creation, and tech’s role in advancing Agenda 2063 – Africa’s plan to achieve inclusive and sustainable socio-economic development over a 50-year period.
