The Fairbanks House, Amelia Island, Florida

Описание к видео The Fairbanks House, Amelia Island, Florida

The Fairbanks House was built in 1885 by Confederate Maj. George Fairbanks. The Victorian Era villa is built in the Italianate style. The home is comprised of 16 bedrooms and 13 ½ baths in over 10,245 square feet of living space. The fireplaces are of particular interest with Fairbanks personally ordering the minted tiles from England. Each tile is imprinted with an image from either a Shakespearean or Aesop character. The woodwork in the main foyer is Honduran Mahogany and at one point was inexplicable painted over in white. The entire home has been restored and brought back to it's former glory and is now being listed for sale. The current owners have lived there for over 23 years and have operated it as a wonderful bed and breakfast.
