Illegal Fireworks Disposal

Did you know that the CAL FIRE-OSFM Arson and Bomb Unit handles the highest volume of seized illegal explosives calls for service in California? Earlier this month, the Arson and Bomb Unit collaborated with Beale AFB's Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team to safely dispose of hundreds of pounds of confiscated illegal explosives. This operation was greatly enhanced by an exchange of knowledge and expertise in Advanced Explosive Disposal Techniques facilitated by our federal partner, the ATF National Center for Explosives Training and Research. All Arson and Bomb Investigators are trained in these advanced procedures to ensure public safety during their operations.

This collaboration is a remarkable example of inter-agency cooperation, highlighting our ongoing commitment to enhancing public safety. We express our deepest gratitude to all the professionals involved in this important mission.
