Kodiak, 1964

Описание к видео Kodiak, 1964

Scenes of Kodiak, Alaska, in 1964 include a few brief glimpses of the Kodiak Crab Festival. The annual festival, also known as "Crabfest," began in 1958 as an idea to market the emerging King Crab industry. The annual event has grown over the years and continues to take place each Memorial Day weekend (Color/Silent/16mm film).

These clips are from AAF-8520 of the Pioneer Pete collection held by the Alaska Film Archives, a unit of the Alaska and Polar Regions Collections & Archives Department in the Elmer E. Rasmuson Library, University of Alaska Fairbanks.
