At Least 5 Indian Army Soldiers Die In a Road Accident In Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch DIstrict

Five soldiers were killed and five others injured when an army vehicle allegedly lost control and fell into a gorge in the Balnoi area in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday. The Army has dismissed any involvement of terrorist activity in the incident, though the cause of the accident is under investigation. The vehicle, belonging to the 11 Madras Light Infantry (11 MLI), was traveling from Nilam Headquarters to Balnoi Ghora Post when it plunged around 350 feet into a steep gorge near its destination. Upon receiving the alert, a Quick Reaction Team swiftly arrived at the scene to assist with rescue efforts. The injured soldiers were given prompt medical care. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased soldiers.
