Kenyan Media has been ranked as leading in cases of sexual harassment in Africa. According to a survey by Women in News, increasing cases of media managers using their positions to frustrate women have been reported this year. The government is now urging female journalists not to bow to the frustrations even as cases of low retention of female journalists in the newsrooms continue to be recorded.
