Telangana Assembly Speaker Clears 5 MLAs in Defection Cases, Gives Clean Chit | TELANGANA NEWS

In a significant decision, Telangana Assembly Speaker Gudem Prasad Kumar has given a clean chit to five MLAs facing allegations of defection, citing a lack of concrete evidence that they had officially joined the Congress party. The MLAs — Arikepudi Gandhi, Talam Venkat Rao, B. Krishna Mohan Reddy, T. Prakash Goud, and G. Maheepal Reddy — were cleared of disqualification petitions. The Speaker stated that technically, these MLAs still belong to the BRS party. Out of the total ten MLAs against whom disqualification proceedings were initiated, hearings for eight have been completed, while the cases of Dunam Nagender and Kadiam Srihari are still under review. Decisions on three more MLAs are expected on Thursday.
