Bikepacking - Exploring Namadgi NP - ACT

I joined Dirk Lievert on a bikepacking weekend in Namadgi National Park, just South of Canberra in the ACT. Although I have done a fair share of bikepacking in my younger years, this was my first bikepacking trip in 18 years.

Bikepacking is an ideal way to explore the Namadgi National Park, a 106,095 hectares of alpine, sub-alpine and mountain bushland and makes up almost half of the ACT.

The trails are fantastic for gravel riding and for most part in good condition. There are plenty of huts for visitors to use as campground, but not to sleep in.

The many road signs makes orientation fairly easy (or you bring a Dirk along to do it for you😉 )

Visitors should be mindful of changing weather conditions and the many water crossings that can become a real challenge after rainfall.
