Over £50 million of public sector finance has escaped government austerity measures, and will still be available to Exeter Science Park, Sky Park, and 3,500 housing development at Cranbrook.

Devon County Council said, Sky Park and Exeter Science Park could create 10,000 jobs in 10 years time.

But from today motorists using the M5 will see "major" disruption, when construction of Link Roads costing £11m begin.

Work on Junction 29 starts a package of roads to the new Exeter Science Park, the 107-acre Sky Park Industrial Estate, and a 3,500 housing development & new-community to be called Cranbrook.

Opposition said the development could be a ghost town.

Devon council, said there was a new pedestrian and cycle bridge over the M5 as part of the development and 'Cranbrook' would have a new railway station.

"We are very keen to support sustainable transport and offer alternatives to the car".
